Job Summary
Provides data entry support to student records in a high volume, detailed-oriented environment. Assists in the processing of student academic records to determine eligibility for admission into MHCC, coursework transferability, and registration. Processes transcript evaluation requests and maintains the flow of electronic and paper transcript processing.
Essential Duties
- Processes admissions applications, and sends welcome letters.
- Processes transfer coursework entry into students’ record and transcript evaluation requests, and maintains the flow of transcripts and transcript processing.
- Performs limited scribing in degree audit software and creation of new schools in the student information system
- Generates correspondence to students regarding status of transcript evaluations.
- Processes official transcripts received from transfer institutions through optical character resolution software.
- Assists with evaluation of degree and certificate audits toward student completion.
- Assists with weekly phone coverage.
Additional Duties
- Assists as needed with the application processing into specialized programs.
- May assist in the training of new part-time staff and student workers.
- Assists with commencement-related activities as assigned.
- Attends regular team and student development meetings. Actively participates in discussions.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Minimum and Desired Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Experience/Training:
- Minimum (2) years of direct experience working with high volume data entry in which accuracy and attention to detail is crucial
- Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and a variety of computer applications including word-processing, spreadsheets, databases, online systems, Internet, online calendaring, email applications, and integrated student information system.
- Must be able to work additional hours and adjust working hours to meet special jobs functions, office needs, and responsibilities.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree
- Experience working in higher education, specifically pertaining to student enrollment services
- Bilingual oral and written skills with fluency in English and other language that meets community needs

Working Conditions and Important Information
Working Conditions
Work is performed primarily in an office setting and the position interacts with a variety of individuals. Heavy computer use and repetitive hand/wrist motion for keyboarding functions are typical. Occasionally, the employee will work longer than normal business hours.
