POSITION SUMMARY

The Floor Maintenance Supervisor oversees the Janitorial Specialists and assists with performing all specialized and restorative cleaning and maintenance tasks associated with the Janitorial department at Relay Resources.  This role is responsible for understanding and executing the contract requirements for their assigned worksite, all applicable Relay Policies, Procedures, Work Rules, applicable Collective Bargaining Agreements, and Relay Safety policies and regulations.  Driving is an essential function of this job.  Presence at the worksite during normal business hours is an essential function of this position.

CORE FUNCTIONS/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Relations and Communication

  • Ensure customer complaints are resolved in a timely manner
  • Ensure that the Manager, Building Solutions Floor Maintenance is kept informed of all issues and concerns
  • Work with the Manager, Building Solutions Floor Maintenance to resolve all work site conflicts
  • Creates workflow diagrams using Visio and other software tools (as needed) to communicate As-Is and To-Be relationships with detailed narrative requirements

Specialized Janitorial Tasks

  • Provide direct support, supervision, and training for staff on floor care, window cleaning and other specialized janitorial tasks
  • As needed, perform customer requested floor maintenance and other specialized janitorial duties at various sites to assist in service delivery

Logistics

  • Complete reports and other paperwork as required
  • Attend assigned meetings
  • Ensure the preventive maintenance is completed on all equipment
  • Perform minor routine maintenance on all assigned equipment and vehicles
  • Develop and implement work schedules
  • Maintain supply levels at all assigned work sites
  • Conduct weekly and/or monthly meetings with assigned staff
  • Order supplies as needed

Quality Assurance

  • Conduct site inspections to ensure quality standards are met
  • Ensure specialty work is completed on time and work schedule is being met

Administrative

  • Attend assigned meetings
  • Ensure payroll accuracy for all assigned Janitorial Specialists
  • Conduct weekly and/or monthly meetings with assigned staff
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels
  • Work with Manager, Building Solutions Floor Maintenance to maintain the master schedule

Safety

  • Ensure safety measures are met according to the janitorial contract, organization safety guidelines and the State and Federal laws
  • Ensure SDS book is current and carried to all sites where work is performed

Other

  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years or equivalent education and experience in floor care operations
  • Experience working with adults with disabilities
  • Demonstrated budgetary responsibilities
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Outlook and Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Able to resolve customer, employee, internal and external complaints 
  • Strong communication skills including written, verbal, and listening
  • Ability to follow through on assigned tasks through completion
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable automobile, safe driving record and insurance coverage acceptable to Relay’s insurance carrier 
  • Ability to pass background check and/or fingerprinting as appropriate at any time during employment

  • 5 years combined education, janitorial operations, and/or management experience
  • Experience in a clinical or health cleaning industry is preferred
  • Experience working or volunteering with persons with disabilities and/or diverse populations is preferred
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Some knowledge of contracts preferred
  • Physical ability to perform occasional janitorial tasks; walk, bend, lift and carry items up to 50 lbs
  • Strong skills in Microsoft 365 office
  • Pass a criminal background check to obtain Federal security clearances
