We have an excellent opportunity in Retail Operations Services for an Operations Complex Account Services Specialist I to join our team.

Primary Responsibilities:

Provides expert advice to staff on operational compliance, including complex membership and deposit accounts, deceased member situations, legal documentation review, and policy interpretation. Independently reviews and assesses the acceptability of legal documents, weighing risks to the credit union and ensuring member satisfaction. Assists employees and members through help desk channels, offering informed recommendations while identifying potential system issues. Responsibilities include handling deceased member, business, and tax-deferred accounts, performing account maintenance, and fulfilling back-office service requests.

External Job Qualifications

Must-haves:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required. 
  • Minimum two years’ experience in a financial institution and one year previous experience in an operational role at a financial institution required.
  • Excellent service and problem-solving skills. 
  • Capable of working independently; understands when to seek additional support and resources.
  • Ability to remain focused and perform tasks/analyze documents and information with a high degree of accuracy. 
  • Strong skills in consistently analyzing information, documents and the overall situation.
  • Effective partnering with other stakeholders, communicating relevant information, and finding workable solutions that support business objectives.
  • Excellent organization, planning and prioritization skills.
  • Proficient in use of personal computer, particularly word processing and spreadsheet programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel. 
  • Must be technologically savvy, with the ability to quickly learn new systems and software applications.
  • Ability to work between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. M - F, and rotating Saturdays. 

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience with complex membership and deposit account types (i.e. Trusts, businesses, IRA/HSA) preferred.
