Description

Join TriMet's Engineering and Construction team as a Summer Intern! As an intern, you will focus primarily on the Layovers and Transit Centers program. This includes supporting the planning, design, and construction of bus layovers (dedicated parking for operator breaks) and transit centers (facilities where multiple transit lines intersect). You will work on projects such as the Beaverton and Oregon City Transit Centers, which are nearing completion of the design phase and preparing for construction in summer 2025. The Gateway Transit Center will also be in its 60% design phase, and you'll assist with tasks related to both design and construction coordination.

Additionally, about

10% of your time will involve engaging with other key initiatives like the

Better Bus program, 82nd Avenue Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), and Frequent Express

(FX) Plan. You will have the chance to participate in workshops and stakeholder

meetings, offering valuable insight into the planning, analysis, and political

dynamics involved in these large-scale projects.

As an intern you will collaborate

with Project Managers, Engineers, and other stakeholders on project meetings,

planning, documentation, and design reviews, gaining hands-on experience in

various aspects of transportation infrastructure.

Hop on board and join us this summer!
