Salary: $8,097-$12,522 (PERS eligible $8,658-$13,392**)
The Oregon Department of Administrative Services (DAS) is seeking a Legislative Director to serve as the department’s senior policy advisor and primary liaison to the Oregon Legislature.
As Legislative Director, you will lead the development of agency legislation, coordinate enterprise-wide policy strategy, and advise the DAS Director, executive leadership, and the Governor’s Office on issues with statewide significance. You will also serve as DAS’s Tribal Liaison, ensuring strong government-to-government relationships with Oregon’s Sovereign Tribal Governments.
What You’ll Do
Lead DAS’s legislative strategy and serve as a senior policy advisor to the DAS Director and Governor’s Office.
Develop and manage agency legislation and align it with statewide priorities.
Act as DAS’s primary liaison to the Oregon Legislature, elected officials, and key stakeholders.
Track, analyze, and communicate the impact of legislative measures across the enterprise.
Coordinate Tribal relations and ensure DAS upholds its commitments to Oregon’s Sovereign Tribal Governments.
Drive cross-agency collaboration on public policy initiatives.
Represent DAS at the highest levels, influencing decisions that affect every corner of the state.
*This position requires in-person work during legislative sessions. There are also occasions outside of session when being on-site is essential to foster relationships and participate in meetings. A hybrid work schedule may be available at other times, depending on operational needs.
