Your Role: As the Organizational Development Consultant, you will play a critical role in supporting leadership by identifying organization-wide development needs and designing impactful development programs that drive meaningful change. You’ll create and deliver strategies that align with the Port’s strategic goals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and leadership excellence. We offer a flexible hybrid schedule that combines work-life balance with team collaboration. You'll be in the office Tuesday through Thursday to engage with colleagues and support our business lines, with the flexibility to work from home on Mondays and Fridays most weeks.


 

Essential Job Duties

 

Program Development & Management: 

  • Lead the creation, delivery, and evaluation of talent development programs, such as leadership training and performance management, in collaboration with leadership and HRBPs. 
  • Develop the tools, templates, and resources needed for successful program implementation.
  • Build and manage leadership development resources, working with the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Belonging team on inclusive leadership training.
  • Advise leaders on talent planning and organizational effectiveness, providing key insights and recommendations. Develop career paths and growth opportunities for employees across different functions.
  • Use feedback and data to evaluate programs and improve their effectiveness.

Organization Development: 

  • Work with senior leadership to create and implement strategies that support the Port’s mission and goals, making a measurable impact. 
  • Regularly update leadership on Organizational Development goals, progress, and results.
  • Assess the organization to identify areas for improvement and design solutions for performance, engagement, and change management.
  • Lead group activities like strategic planning sessions, leadership retreats, and team-building workshops.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners and Port leaders to align OD programs with business needs and drive changes such as restructuring or culture improvements.
  • Create tools and resources to support organizational design, team building, and planning, and guide the organization through change.
  • Encourage new initiatives and help manage resistance to change with clear communication. 
  • Identify training needs, develop programs, and promote a culture of learning and inclusivity. 
  • Ensure OD programs support the Port’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Training & Development, or a related field.
  • OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Experience

  • At least 8 (eight) years of progressively responsible experience in Organizational Development (OD), Training, or Learning and Development,

Security

  • Employees in this position may be required to successfully pass and maintain security clearance relevant to assigned duties such as SIDA (Security Identification Display Area), TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential), CJIS (Criminal Justice Information Systems), etc.

Preferred Licenses and Certifications: 

  • APTD or CPTD (ASTD)
  • CID (Certified Instructional Designer) (ATD or similar)
  • SPHR or SHRM-SCP (HRCI or SHRM)
  • CMP (Change Management Practitioner) (Prosci or similar)
  • Facilitation certificate or certification (various)
  • Coaching certificate or certification (Hudson, ICF, or similar)
  • CODP (Certified OD Professional) (IOD)

SELECTION PROCESS & PROJECTED TIMELINE:  (tentative schedule): 

  1. Minimum Qualification Evaluation: During the week of February 3, Human Resources and the Hiring Manager will evaluate the education, training, and experience outlined in submitted application packets.
  2. Subject Matter Expert (SME) Evaluation: A panel of internal Subject Matter Experts will assess your experience and training based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questionnaire.
  3. Interview Scheduling: Our goal is to schedule first-round interviews during the week of February 10 for candidates who successfully pass the SME evaluation. The first round will typically involve the recruiter and the hiring manager. Panel Interviews are tentatively scheduled for the week of February 24. 

Compensation:
Our organization adheres to established salary ranges for each position to ensure equitable pay practices. However, final offers are determined based on various factors, including the candidate's experience, qualifications, and considerations of internal pay equity.
