Oregon State University, Cascades is seeking an Admissions Advisor (Bilingual – Spanish). This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.
This position is located in Bend, Oregon
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Admissions, the Admissions Advisor represents OSU-Cascades through recruitment activities aimed at supporting the campus enrollment goals and strategic plan. The Admissions Advisor provides the first point of contact for prospective students and families as they navigate the application process. The position serves as a member of the recruitment team that is responsible for the planning and execution of undergraduate, domestic recruitment strategies. The Admissions Advisor must be willing to travel and represent OSU-Cascades and Oregon State University to a diverse population of students, counselors, family members and community partners.
The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented individual, excited to work in a fast-paced environment, who values strong time management skills and is flexible, having the ability to adapt to rapid change. The Admissions Advisor will have the opportunity to support university goals and strategic plan and will play a critical role in assisting in the recruitment of talented, diverse students to the university.

What you need to have
- Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university in discipline of choice. Bachelor’s Degree must be completed by start date.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
- Experience working with college or high school students in an advisory or recruitment capacity.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish..
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally in front of small and large groups and to provide workshops, trainings and outreach programs.
- Technological proficiency utilizing computers and working with programs similar to Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point.
- Ability to think clearly under pressure and to work with individuals from various cultures, including the ability to handle difficult inter-personal situations with tact and diplomacy.
- Must be able and willing to independently travel for extended periods and work during irregular hours extensively, including late nights, early mornings, evenings and weekends for a minimum of seventeen (17) weeks per year on a continuous and ongoing basis. Must be able to manage frequent travel and fatigue related stress.
- Demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity, ability to work with other individuals whose culture and/or beliefs may differ from your own.
This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
