About the Position

The Operational Assistant in County Administration will fill a critical role in supporting the work of our department. This position will directly support programs in County Administration and will interact regularly with the public, county commissioners, and other elected officials as well as staff throughout the County. This pivotal role is often referred to as the voice of Lane County; answering calls and assisting walk-in customers who are inquiring about services, dropping off information or hoping to speak to their commissioner. In addition to the customer service aspect of this role, you will be a key member of our team maintaining weekly processing of invoices, credit card receipts, maintaining records and documents per retention rules, serving as a committee liaison resource for County committees and advisory bodies, and coordinating the County Volunteer Program. This position works out of the Public Service Building at 125 E. 8th Avenue in Eugene. Successful candidates will have excellent customer service skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office products, and the ability to stay organized while being able to multitask.
About the Division
The County Management Division of County Administration delivers high quality, cost-effective services to the residents of Lane County and the departments within Lane County Government. The Division includes the following programs: County Administrator’s Office (County Administrator and Executive Assistant, Front Reception, Board Coordinator, Policy Research and Special Projects and Strategic Planning), Equity & Access, Budget & Financial Planning, Justice Courts, Law Library, and the Public Information Office.
Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 5:00pm

QUALIFICATIONS:
Training & Experience:
- Three years of education and/or experience in office administration, business or public administration, clerical or a similar field; or a combination sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position.
