Lane County is seeking a Recording Supervisor to join the County Clerk's Office, a team dedicated to providing critical services that directly impact our community. The County Clerk's Office oversees local, state, and federal elections, maintains the voter registration database for Lane County electors, responsible for recording real property documents, issuing marriage licenses and domestic partnerships, and supporting the Property Value Appeals Board. 

As the Recording Supervisor, your primary responsibility will be supervising the Deeds and Records program, ensuring accurate and efficient operations in the following areas:

  • Real Property Recording (property deeds)
  • Marriage License Issuance
  • Domestic Partnerships
  • Property Value Appeals Board (application and hearings processes)

While this position may include opportunities to support elections in the future, the primary focus will be overseeing Recording duties.

In this role, you will:

  • Coordinate and oversee program activities with professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Serve as a liaison and advocate for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement program policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Supervise and provide leadership to a team of professional, technical, and support staff.
  • Manage contracts and support operational efficiency within the office.

About the Division

The County Clerk will administer all federal, state, and local laws as they apply to conducting elections, processing voter registration, recording land documents, and issuing marriage licenses, while maintaining the highest degree of integrity and accuracy, and providing exceptional customer service. 

Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Some evening and weekend shifts may be required during the election cycle.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

  • Eight years of education and/or experience in elections oversight, government record keeping, public administration, or similar, including one years of experience in a supervisory, management, or leadership role; or a combination sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position.

Special Requirements:

  • Schedule is Monday-Friday from 8:00am - 4:30pm with possible overtime and limited periods of restricted time off during peak election season. 
  • Staff perform statutorily required in-person serves and the office is open to the public, requiring staff to work in-person. 

Licensing Requirements:

  • Oregon Driver's License.

  • Passing a background check will be required for this position.
