Tonkon Torp, a prominent, full-service firm in Portland, Oregon, is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Litigation Legal Assistant with at least three years of experience to join our busy Litigation Department immediately. Experience in Bankruptcy law is a plus.
Ideal candidates should possess excellent organizational and proofreading skills, be able to coordinate with support teams and administrative agencies, and enjoy detailed work in a busy, deadline-driven environment. Hybrid work may be available after the first 30 days of employment.

Typical duties may include:
• Litigation administrative support including document preparation, case management, transcription, timekeeping, billing, calendar management, and maintaining confidential information.
• Prepare, edit, and finalize documents for filing with state and federal courts and other parties/agencies in accordance with firm standards and applicable court rules.
• Check in regularly with attorneys on project deadlines and prompt as needed.
• Assign tasks to other departments and staff as appropriate. Follow up on status to ensure timely completion and communicate clearly with all team members on status.
• Communicate with clients and other legal professionals in a professional and courteous manner, both verbally and in writing.
• Assist other team members and attorneys as needed.
The ideal candidate possesses:
• At least three years of experience as a litigation legal assistant supporting attorneys and paralegals. Experience with Bankruptcy and filing in Washington, California, or Texas is a plus.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple projects, meet deadlines, solve problems, and take initiative with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook, Adobe Acrobat (or similar), DocuSign, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with iManage or BigHand is a plus.
• Excellent typing, grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with and provide excellent service to internal and external parties.
• Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.
