JOB SUMMARY 

The Assistant Team Manager – Janitorial is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of assigned RR Janitorial contracts, ensuring compliance with all contract requirements, company policies, and regulatory standards. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of assigned service contracts, applicable RR Policies, Procedures, Work Rules, Collective Bargaining Agreements, and RR Safety policies and regulations. Driving and on-site presence during normal business hours are essential functions of this position. The Assistant Team Manager serves as a key liaison between staff, customers, and management, ensuring operational excellence, staff development, and customer satisfaction. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  1. Support  

  1. Provide direct support, guidance, and training to Janitorial Supervisors to ensure consistent service quality and adherence to company standards. 

  1. Assist Project Managers and other operational leaders as needed to support organizational objectives. 

  1. Serve as a resource for staff regarding operational procedures, company policies, and compliance requirements. 

  1. Communication  

  1. Maintain viable communications with customers, management and staff support functions  

  1. Respond to customer complaints and concerns  

  1. Maintain customer contact and relations  

  1. Resolve work site conflicts  

  1. Supervision  

  1. Supervise and manage special work groups as assigned, ensuring adherence to operational goals and standards. 

  1. Attend and actively participate in scheduled meetings, providing updates on operations and staffing. 

  1. Conduct regular staff meetings (weekly/monthly) to communicate expectations, provide feedback, and foster team engagement. 

  1. Contracts  

  1. Develop a comprehensive understanding of all assigned service contracts, including specific deliverables, performance metrics, and compliance requirements. 

  1. Ensure that all operations align with contract expectations and company standards. 

  1. Logistics  

  1. Manage resources effectively within the allocated budget. 

  1. Develop, implement, and monitor work schedules to ensure appropriate staffing coverage. 

  1. Maintain adequate supply levels at all assigned work sites, ordering materials as needed to avoid service disruption. 

  1. Manage the inventory of equipment and supplies, ensuring proper storage, use, and maintenance. 

  1. Quality Assurance  

  1. Conduct routine site inspections to ensure service quality, safety, and contract compliance. 

  1. Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed to meet performance standards. 

  1. Administration  

  1. Complete all required reports, documentation, and administrative tasks accurately and on time. 

  1. Maintain accurate records related to staffing, operations, and site activities. 

  1. Compliance  

  1. Ensure staffing aligns with the 75% JWOD requirements and maintain appropriate staffing levels across all sites. 

  1. Adhere to all company, legal, and contractual policies, procedures, and safety regulations. 

  1. Monitor compliance with labor agreements, safety standards, and operational guidelines. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Five years’ experience in the janitorial field  

  • Minimum of 2 years in supervision/project management roles.  

  • Prior management experience in janitorial contracts, supervision and training.   

  • Knowledge of all phases of janitorial and floor care processes.   

  • Experience ordering supplies and performing payroll duties. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.   

  • Fluency in computer applications such as MS Word, Excel and Outlook.   

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable automobile, safe driving record and insurance coverage acceptable to RR’s insurance carrier.   

  • Ability to pass drug screening and criminal history background check and/or fingerprinting as appropriate at any time during employment.
