Tonkon Torp LLP, a prominent, full-service firm in Portland, Oregon, is looking for an associate with 1-5 years of experience including intellectual property, privacy/data security, and technology contracts to join its Business Department.
Key Responsibilities:
'¢ Evaluating and advising on state, federal, and international privacy and security laws, including laws involving consumer and employee data;
'¢ Drafting privacy policies, privacy notices, and terms of use for websites, mobile applications, software-as-a-service products, and more;
'¢ Advising on trademark searching, clearance, applications, prosecution, and enforcement;
'¢ Drafting trademark applications and office action responses;
'¢ Advising on copyright protection, applications, and enforcement;
'¢ Drafting, reviewing, and advising on technology and software contracts;
'¢ Conducting research and drafting advice on a large variety of intellectual property and privacy issues based on client needs; and
'¢ Providing support throughout the Business Department as needed from time to time.
The qualified candidate will have:
'¢ J.D. and strong academic record from an ABA-accredited law school;
'¢ Experience in intellectual property law;
'¢ Experience in privacy law;
'¢ Strong negotiation and communications skills;
'¢ Attention to detail; and
'¢ Natural curiosity and enthusiasm for new challenges.
