TriMet will lead/manage the design, construction, and turnover of this project, in collaboration with our regional and federal partners. This role would assist in establishing scopes of work, evaluate schedules and production rates, and assess/identify budget needs and constraints. Assist the project director with supervision and coordination of the work of consultants, construction contractors, and other support staff as required utilizing established processes and procedures. Additional tasks may include participating in design reviews, permitting, submittals, RFIs, monthly payment requests, change management, estimating, and maintaining contract documents such as as-built drawings.
Montgomery Park Streetcar Expansion Project: TriMet, as the Grantee for the Small Start funding, is responsible for compliance and monitoring of the grant through the lifecycle of the project. The City of Portland (CoP)/ Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) staff will deliver the project managing both the project development, construction, and closeout phases. This position would provide oversight support to the City of Portland (CoP) in regard to budget, schedule, and contract administration requirements as mandated by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA). A person in this role would be expected to periodically engage and work closely with the CoP/PBOT staff including the project manager, construction manager, and stakeholders.
As a team member supporting Small Starts Federal projects, a successful candidate will be one that demonstrates leadership qualities that are proactive, collaborative, strategic, innovative, accountable, and supportive of a project-first mentality. While strong project controls experience on projects with complex schedule and detailed funding tracking requirements is expected, additional priority will also be placed on grasping and supporting other facets of the design and project management components of the project.
In addition to being project focused, we will be looking for applicants that are motivated by TriMet’s mission to serve the region in a way that strengthens access, community, and environmental stewardship. If you are interested in having a contributing role in this regional project, and want to be part of the TriMet team, please apply.
