AAA Oregon/Idaho is looking for a Senior Manager of Accounting to join our team onsite at our headquarters in Downtown Portland, OR.
Summary
The Senior Manager of Accounting is responsible for leading the organization’s daily accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, tax and compliance functions. This role provides strategic financial leadership while ensuring accurate, timely, and transparent financial reporting. The position manages a team of accounting professionals, driving process improvements, adhering to internal control processes, and complying with all tax laws and regulatory requirements. Additionally, the role plays a key part in financial audits, strategic planning, and optimizing financial processes to enhance business performance.
Desired Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics (CPA or MBA preferred).
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years of leadership experience in a supervisory capacity.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls; IFRS knowledge is a plus.
- Experience in managing financial audits and ensuring tax compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to execute projects under tight timelines and drive process improvements.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate and influence leadership teams.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Workday, Great Plains or similar) preferred.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and strategic initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and results-driven while ensuring accuracy and control.
