Auxiliary and Events Manager, Finance and Operations, Vancouver Campus

Summary of Duties

For the WSU Vancouver campus, this position works independently to manage a wide variety of support services for on-campus events and auxiliary services. This position is also the campus commencement officer.

This position leads the overall administrative and financial management of the Auxiliary and Events Department, and represents the Vice Chancellor for Finance and Operations, as required.

 

Required Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in a field related to the functional managerial area which has included at least one (1) year of supervisory experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Demonstrated computer software skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Office programs, such as: Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access as well as video conferencing platforms such as Teams and Zoom.

Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver’s license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards for driving and operating a golf cart.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience planning and/or supporting complex events.
  • Ability to manage a budget, ensure timely financial transactions, and forecast expenses.
  • Experience providing exceptional customer service to a diverse clientele, including handling special requests and resolving customer dissatisfaction.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience developing and/or delivering training in the workplace.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues in other departments.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a proven ability to handle last-minute changes.
  • Experience with room/event scheduling software such as 25Live.
  • Experience with contractual relationships that provide service to the organization.
  • Experience interpreting and applying state, local, and organizational policies.
  • Previous experience in higher education.

Work Location and Schedule: 

The position will be primarily on-campus with some remote work opportunities after 6 months.

 

Monthly Salary:

$4,869 - $6,088.50, Zone 3 Grade 05. In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. The anticipated pay range for selected candidates will be between $4,869- $6,087.
