Precollege Programs is seeking a Black Student Success Program Coordinator. This is a full-time (1.00FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position. Posting Close date: 2/22/2026.
The Black Student Success Program Coordinator will help secondary students transition to post-secondary institutions, assist with college-readiness programming, train OSU students to serve as student mentors for participating K-12 students, and assist with Corvallis-based programming, including the End of Year Family Day. Funded through an African American/Black Students Success grant from the Oregon Department of Education, the Pathways to OSU and Post-Secondary Success (POPS) program has a mission to increase: 1. Access to authentic, culturally responsible, and co-created learning and activities, 2. Recruitment, retention, and postsecondary success of K-12 African/African American/Black/African Diaspora (AABD) students in the metropolitan Portland, Oregon, area and among African American/Black college students.
The Coordinator will work collaboratively to oversee the management and coordination of day-to-day implementation of the Grant Activity List which includes college access and readiness programs and an End of Year Family Day. The grant is a partnership between the Precollege Programs, the Educational Opportunities Program (EOP), and Access OSU departments at OSU and multiple Community Based Organizations serving the Portland area. Coordinators will train and manage OSU students who are instrumental in program implementation. The Coordinator will act as a subject matter expert, coordinating services and programming to support, align and improve delivery of OSU youth and family engagement, pre-college, co-curricular academic success programs, and community engagement serving Black students in the Portland Metro area and across the state with the goal of increasing the number of on-track freshmen, attendance and graduation rates of Black students.

- The Precollege Programs department has a mission of providing engaging learning experiences that are rooted in equity and inclusion that promote youth success. PCP supports and oversees a wide range of youth outreach activities and academic programs to broaden participation in STEM and increase college access, academic preparation, and career awareness for Oregon’s youth.
- EOP supports the academic, personal, and professional development of students who have traditionally been denied equal access to higher education by providing a welcoming environment which includes smaller classes, academic counseling, and innovative programs and services designed to enhance retention and persistence.
- Access OSU brings university and community partners together to build robust and resilient pathways to higher education for students and families from underrepresented communities in the Portland Metro area.
Funding for this position is provided by the Oregon Department of Education through June 30th 2028.
