Then this may be the role for you. Come join our team as an Infant and Toddler Teacher. This position provides and implements a developmentally appropriate early childhood classroom experience for children enrolled in our Full Day Full Year Early Head Start program. Scheduled to work 40 hours per week. Fully qualified pay rate- $22.93, Trainee rate- $21.94. General schedule is Monday- Friday day time hours.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education-

High school diploma or equivalent and a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential for Infant and Toddlers, or, equivalent of 12 quarter ECE credits in age-appropriate early childhood and child development.

Preferred Education and Experience

Associate degree in early childhood education or child development with an emphasis on groups of children 0-36 months of age.

Associate degree not in ECE and a Child Development Associate (CDA) with an Infant/Toddler credential or equivalent of 12 quarter ECE credits in age-appropriate early childhood and child development.

Bi-lingual highly desired

Knowledge of:
1. Current and developmentally appropriate best practices for children age 0-3.
2. Principles of infant/toddler development and infant/toddler curriculum planning.
3. Technology proficient

Ability to:

1. Observe and assess children and set individualized goals.

2. Prepare the classroom environment to meet the educational needs of each child.

3. Track each child's progress and incorporate the information into the curriculum.

4. Work cooperatively with staff members and clients from diverse cultural, socio-economic and educational backgrounds.

5. Maintain confidentiality of records and information.

6. Use the team approach to resolving problems or conflicts.

7. Demonstrate professional and effective written and verbal communication skills; receive information and feedback in an understanding manner; use good judgment.

8. Attend appropriate staff meetings and out-of-town training sessions as assigned

9. Perform the physical requirements of the job which include regular crouching, stooping, bending, kneeling, sitting on the floor to assist and engage with children, and outdoors on a playground setting monitoring safe play and supervision.
