The AbilIT job development coordinator will evaluate learner education, work, and training experience, and develop individual career development plans and strategies with a goal of a job in IT related positions. They will also provide direct support to participants in their job search activities, advocate with local employers to secure interviews and subsequent employment placement opportunities and develop partnership opportunities with the local IT business community.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Coordinates job placement efforts and tracks employment outcomes 30%

  • Develops and maintains partnerships with local employers and industry professionals
  • Collects and analyzes data related to job placement and competitive integrated employment results
  • Organizes employer engagement events, job fairs and networking opportunities for graduating participants in Abil-IT program

Provides job placement assistance for participants in Abil-IT Program 45%

  • Assists graduating participants in identifying job opportunities and preparing them for the application process
  • Provides ongoing support and follow-up to participants and employers to ensure successful job placement for all graduating Abil-IT students
  • Conducts pre-interview preparation with each participant and provides coaching support throughout the application and placement process

 Provides administrative support for Abil-IT Program 20%

  • Evaluate participant progress
  • Provide on-going feedback and guidance
  • Other duties as needed 5%

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES;

  • Strong networking and relationship building skills
  • Knowledge of local job market trends and employer needs
  • Excellent Organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including word, PowerPoint, Excel and other software applications such as Canva, Loom, etc.

Performs duties with minimal supervision

  • Collaborates with all Abil-IT Team members, Relay colleagues and external employer partners

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 years of experience in Human Resources, or professional development and/or job placement support
  • BA degree in Human Resources, Education, Disability Support or related field
  • Strong connection with disability; experience with neurodiversity preferred
