The Enterprise Recruiting team is seeking a Student Office Worker to assist with an exciting project!
The Chief Human Resources Office within the Oregon Department of Administrative Services has a unique opportunity to develop a statewide internship program that will open doors for future interns to gain experience in state government. In this role, you will work closely with a Senior HR Consultant to analyze the status of current intern programs throughout state government and assist with making recommendations for ways to scale those programs. The goal of the project is to make opportunities more accessible for prospective interns and to foster a community of talented interns who are eager to build rewarding careers in the public sector.
In this role, you will gain valuable experience in the following areas:

Becoming familiar with the agencies that make up Oregon State Government

Real world connection of human resources concepts, particularly in the areas of recruitment and workforce development

Building professional relationships and networks across state government

Developing business communication skills

Hands-on experience with HR information systems and data analysis
Job Duties Include:
-
Typing drafts of emails, memos, and other materials
-
Editing and proofreading documents
-
Entering, updating, and combining data
-
Verifying accuracy of data, correcting errors, adding/deleting data as instructed
-
Attending virtual and in-person meetings to build rapport with agency personnel and gather information.
Assignment Details:
-
Compensation: $19.77 hourly
-
Hours: Full-time (32-40 hours per week)
-
Duration: May work up to six months or 1,040 hours, but is eligible for a shorter duration. Length of this assignment will be determined with the candidate selected for the position.

Location: Eligible for hybrid work. Official worksite location is in Salem’s Capitol Mall area and in-office attendance will be required occasionally, but you may work from an alternate location, such as your residence, if desired. Travel or commute expenses to the Salem office are not reimbursed by the Agency.

Working Conditions: Primarily computer-based. Communication will mostly be conducted via virtual meetings, chat, and email. We will provide technology equipment for the duration of the assignment.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
-
Currently enrolled, at least half-time, in a degree program at an accredited college or university.

Be at least 18 years old by the hire date.
Desired Attributes:

Coursework in Human Resources, Public Administration, Business Administration or related is preferred.

Interest in government, public policy, human resources, or organizational/workforce development.

Experience or training with software such as Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, Adobe, PowerPoint and Smartsheet.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Time management skills with high attention to detail.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
