If you answered yes to the above, this may be the position for you. The Management Analyst 1 works as part of the Budget and Financial Planning team under the direction of the Budget & Finance Director. The successful candidate will report to the Budget Manager and will provide support for a variety of internal service areas including Budget & Finance, Information Technology, and Human Resources. Additionally, this position will provide support to other city departments in the area of financial grant management and reporting. Within this environment, the Management Analyst 1 assists with a wide range of financial and budgetary functions.


What you will get to do:

The Management Analyst 1 performs variety of financial and operational analyses in support of the assigned departments including:

  • Budget Development: Assists with budget development, communicates assumptions and timelines to comply with the city-wide budget process within established processes, ensures program managers have appropriate information available to have an effective and efficient decision-making process within their department; reviews and analyses proposals to ensure consistency with citywide objectives.

  • Financial Grant Management & Reporting: Assists departments with the tracking and reporting of expenditures related to grants including collection of financial documents, determining eligibility of expenditures per grant documents, reporting in online portals, generating and tracking reimbursement requests, preparing for grantor audits.

  • Analysis: Monitors budgets, tracks actual expenditures and revenues, analyzes trends and spending patterns to forecast future expenditures and revenues provides financial grant management and reporting, identifies issues and concerns, and coordinates solutions to address midyear adjustments.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Public or Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field

  • Up to one (1) year of experience of related work experience in grant reporting, budget development, and/or departmental financial support.

Any combination of four (4) to five (5) years of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying.
