Join TriMet’s LIFT Paratransit team as a Summer 2025 Intern!
As an Intern, you will work on developing a rollout plan and supporting the implementation of a mobile wayfinding technology solution aimed at enhancing accessibility for all public transportation users, particularly individuals with disabilities, seniors, and those with limited and no vision.
Wayfinding technology involves tools that aid riders with mobility or visual impairments in navigating around the built environment. Examples include graded tiling at Max stops, or audio cues at crosswalks.
Activities will include research and analysis on current wayfinding tools and how other agencies have used them. You'll collaborate on proposing, testing and launching a technology solution to wayfinding needs. You will also document your findings, make recommendations, and provide project progress in a final report.
As an Intern, you will play an essential role in ultimately launching a wayfinding application to provide riders real-time updates and support as they utilize TriMet fixed route bus and MAX system. Join us as we work to bridge usability gaps and make our system more accessible!
