Position Summary: 

The On-Call Enterprise Sales Associate supports the Enterprise Department at Community Warehouse both in the Estate Store and at Pop-Up Events. The Enterprise Department is a retail and event-based fundraising program that supports Community Warehouse’s Mission. The On-Call Enterprise Sales Associate will assist with sales, customer service, and merchandise management both in-store and at off-site pop-up events. This flexible, as-needed role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic, dependable, and aligned with Community Warehouse’s mission of connecting essential household items with neighbors in need.

This position requires staff  to support in our other sites: primarily based at our Portland location (3961 NE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Portland, OR 97212), and also expected to work at our Westside location (9806 SW Tigard Street, Portland, OR 97223), or Eastside location (464 NE 219th Avenue, Gresham, OR, 97030) as well as other locations for across the Portland Metropolitan area for various Markets or Pop-Up Events as needed. 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Estate Store Duties

  • Supporting day-to-day operations at the Community Warehouse Estate Store
  • Greet customers and offer friendly, knowledgeable service
  • Share Community Warehouse’s mission with shoppers
  • Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to process transactions
  • Assist with merchandising, pricing, and restocking inventory on the sales floor
  • Maintain visual presentation and cleanliness of the store
  • Work collaboratively with volunteers to uphold store procedures and policies
  • Support regular store functions during peak periods or to cover staff absences
  • Ensure safety and organizational protocols are followed

 

Event & Market Duties

  • Supporting pop-up sales, community events, garage sales, and vintage markets
  • Assist with event setup and breakdown (tables, tents, signage, merchandise displays)
  • Transport and stage merchandise for off-site events
  • Price and tag merchandise items for market or event environments
  • Engage with event customers, provide information, and ring up sales
  • Restock merchandise as needed throughout the event
  • Maintain a tidy, welcoming sales environment at event locations
  • Represent Community Warehouse in a positive and professional manner in public spaces

 

Key Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Previous retail, sales floor, or event support experience is a plus
  • Ability to lift and carry items and assist with physical event setup
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale systems (training provided)
  • Reliable, flexible, and able to work as part of a team or independently
  • Interest in vintage, antique, or secondhand goods is a plus
  • Must be available for weekend and occasional weekday shifts

Physical Demands*

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

  • Keying/typing
  • This is a physically demanding position including standing, stooping, reaching overhead, climbing ladders, moving furniture; requires heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.
