Role Overview:

The Senior Director of Programs, a key member of Janus Youth Programs’ Organizational Leadership Team, provides visionary oversight and strategic direction to a diverse portfolio of programs, partnering with a team of six Program Directors. This role drives the agency’s mission and future vision by leading initiatives addressing youth homelessness, residential treatment, support for young parents, and a continuum of care from emergency shelters to long-term services. With a focus on innovation, operational excellence, and sustainable growth, the Senior Director of Programs ensures program alignment with organizational goals while fostering collaborative partnerships to amplify impact and expand reach.

 

Primary Areas of Focus:

 

Leadership & Strategy

  • Serves as the direct supervisor of the Program Director team.
  • Provide strategic direction, aligning operations with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with leadership to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
  • Innovate and implement new structures to enhance agency impact.
  • Support Program Directors in fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
  • Support professional development and ensure DEI integration in services.

Program Oversight

  • Develop and implement Key Performance Indicators to clearly measure program impact.
  • Leverage data to improve programmatic efficacy.

Financial Management

  • Collaborate with the Fiscal Director to design and oversee annual budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities. Champion fiscal accountability while contributing to strategic fundraising initiatives.

Operational Excellence

  • Foster cross-departmental collaboration to optimize processes and drive organizational efficiency.
  • Uphold strict adherence to legal, regulatory, and industry standards, ensuring operational integrity and excellence.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Education: A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required; a master's degree or advanced certification is preferred.
  • Experience: 10+ years in supportive services with at least 5 of those years in direct program leadership. Experience in young adult and youth services preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in overseeing budgets and managing the operations of multiple programs simultaneously.
  • Proven expertise in developing, implementing, and assessing DEIA initiatives, trauma-informed care, and positive youth development frameworks.
