Job Title: Psychiatric Services Coordinator

Department/Program: Psychiatric Services

Reports to: Medical Director

FLSA status: Non Exempt

Salary: $22.71/hr. - $24.16/hr. (Bilingual Spanish - $24.75/hr. - $26.33/hr.)

Position/Job Summary:

The Psychiatric Services Coordinator is responsible for performing a wide range of duties to ensure the efficient delivery of psychiatric services as well as provide administrative support to the Medical Director and Psychiatric Providers. This position can be performed in a remote or hybrid capacity. 

Position/Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the Psychiatric Services Team including but not limited to the following: scheduling client appointments; coordinating with other service providers; requesting client records; completing pre-authorizations for medication, processing refills, ordering and entering lab values
  • Respond to client calls on the Medication Line and answer questions or triage to the appropriate provider
  • Maintain centralized data base of clients referred for and/or receiving Psychiatric Services to track provider caseloads and ensure that all clients are seen within the appropriate time frame
  • Support the Medical Director with administrative tasks; purchasing supplies; scheduling and coordinating meetings; and new employee recruitment, onboarding, and training.
  • Timely documentation of client contacts in Electronic Health Record
  • Collaborate with Program Leadership and Program staff regarding psychiatric services
  • Participates in assigned staff meetings, other meetings and committees.
  • Works effectively on multiple projects from beginning to end. Following through with coordination of individuals, completing tasks and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Provide a high level of customer service to clients, families, staff and outside professionals in a service-oriented, respectful manner using skills in active listening and problem solving. May have contact with clients and families who may have emotional and/or behavioral challenges; addressing, redirecting and/or problem solving with upset, angry, delayed, severely traumatized, and emotionally and/or behaviorally challenged clients and families.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Required Position Qualifications: (Minimum qualifications required to be considered for hire into this position)
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 3 years progressively responsible and consecutive office experience.
  • Intermediate level computer capabilities in use of databases, web-based environments, word processing, email and spreadsheets.
  • Fluent in Spanish with ability to pass Spanish proficiency test in oral and written communication
Preferred Position Qualifications: (preference may be given to those who hold these qualifications; however, candidates who meet the required position qualifications are encouraged to apply)
  • Knowledge of non-profit and/or social services
  • Knowledge of electronic health records
  • Experience providing support to medical/behavior health providers
Other Requirements
  • Pass a DHS criminal history background
  • Meets agency driving requirements (if driving for work)
  • Works up to 40 hours a week, as specified on employment offer letter, during regular program hours (Monday through Friday 8am ' 8pm); schedule is created with assigned supervisor.
  • Travel and perform duties at different agency locations with possible meetings/presentations at other Morrison designated worksites and in the community.
  • Language testing if applicable.
