In this important public official position, you will serve alongside four other board members as quasi-judicial officers, conducting contested hearings that uphold due process and procedural fairness for individuals with chronic mental health issues.
In this role, you will evaluate evidence, hear testimonies from witnesses, and make informed decisions regarding the treatment, supervision, and community placement of individuals. You will also assess petitions from those seeking restoration of firearm rights or relief from sex offender registration requirements. Your contributions will be essential in ensuring a fair and just process, balancing individual rights with public safety, and promoting rehabilitation and successful reintegration into the community.
Position Details and Board Member Commitment
As a PSRB board member, you will be appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate for a four-year term, which may be extended for a second term.
