Description

Marmoset is seeking a People and Office Intern

Marmoset is an open, inclusive company committed to fostering a diverse, equitable workplace. The People & Office Intern role will focus on learning about two important functions of Marmoset -

  1. office coordination: how to support and cultivate Marmoset’s employees, keeping them well cared for while fostering a healthy culture at Marmoset; and
  2. shipping and receiving: supporting Marketing team with client appreciation, unpacking all received shipments and managing inventory

Daily objectives entail various administrative tasks, such as behind-the-scenes office coordinating, project management, packing/shipping/receiving and inventory. The ideal candidate is someone highly personable and detail-oriented, with strong communication skills and a dedication to supporting others. Through a willingness to learn new skills and never being afraid to roll up their sleeves, this role will ensure Marmoset’s office runs efficiently and our gifting, mailings, cards, etc. are impactful and positively reflect Marmoset’s purpose, values and brand.

This is an entry-level, part-time internship role that must work onsite in Portland, Oregon.

You

Basics: Details are your middle name, and you’re exceptional at keeping track of and organizing a lot of them. Works well both independently and collaboratively. A strong interest in growing your administrative experience. Managing detailed lists, multiple priorities and short timelines are in your wheelhouse.

Personality: You’re a people person with a contagious “can-do” attitude, willing to jump in wherever needed. You welcome criticism, often seek feedback and embrace accountability. You’re quick to ask for help and also to offer help. Not afraid to take on new projects and collaborate with a variety of teams. With a little guidance, you can run with things and make them your own.

Abilities: You’re a team player, intrinsically motivated by helping everyone win. You seek out learning opportunities and are proactive. Excellent communicator, strong researcher, attentive listener. You don’t hesitate to roll up your sleeves and work in the trenches. You’re undaunted by building cardboard boxes for days and slinging unwieldy tape guns.

Experience: You have experience in an administrative role and are comfortable doing a high volume of data entry, packaging, shipping/receiving. You’ve worked on a team where your attention to detail and highly organized attributes have made an impact. Required: must be able to lift 50 pounds,  work onsite in PDX and have a car (and valid license to drive).

Passion + Purpose: Values and equity matter to you. You aspire to make a positive impact in the world. You want to be part of a fun, familial, creative company that cares deeply about community.
