The Oregon Board of Optometry (OBO) is the regulating body for the practice of optometry in Oregon. OBO adopts rules and policies related to the practice of optometry in Oregon. The board serves more than 1,100 licensed doctors of optometry, working to ensure protection of public health, safety and welfare. The board regulates the practice of optometry in Oregon through setting standards for the examination of candidates for licensure, certification standards, continuing optometric education, and enforcement of the laws and rules governing optometry.
As the Administrative Coordinator you will provide the highest level of support to the Executive Director of the OBO with the enforcement process, ensuring consistency and compliance of those practicing Optometry in Oregon. You will oversee the examination and licensing processes from application to renewal and certification. Additional support involves management of Board resources and maintaining accounting systems to track budgets, revenues and expenses for the program including preparing financial documentation, auditing and reporting.

What We Are Looking For
Minimum Qualifications:
One year of experience performing administrative duties in support of agency projects or programs. Qualifying experience would involve data collection and analysis; project evaluation and/or analysis; interpretation and application of laws, rules, and regulations; or similar experience.
Desired Attributes:

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with experience taking meeting minutes.

Demonstrated success in executive level administrative support.

Proficient in working with Intuit QuickBooks or a similar accounting program, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.

Experience with invoicing and payment reconciliation and budget reporting.

Experience with and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and responding to inquiries for information with tact and diplomacy.

Experience handling several projects at a time with overlapping deadlines.

Experience in customer service, including responding to customer inquiries and complaints in a timely and effective manner.
Preference Statement:
Preference may be given to individuals with experience in regulation of professional registration (licensing) or accounting.
