Looking for an opportunity to hone your Project Management skills? Join TriMet’s IT Project Management Office this summer and work closely with our team on project coordination, documentation, and process improvement. You’ll gain hands-on experience with project tracking tools, stakeholder communication, Agile/Waterfall methodologies and more. 

Project Management Interns will work alongside an experienced Project Manager to support an ongoing long-term project within IT. You'll be assigned to projects based on your interests and skills and will have the opportunity to manage a project or initiative from start to finish!

This is an incredible opportunity for detail-oriented, organized problem-solvers looking to build their skills, expand their professional network, and develop work samples for a portfolio.  Whether you have prior experience or just a passion for learning, we want you on board!

 

This Internship is performed in-person. Applicants must be available to work in-person in the Portland Metro region of Oregon.

Serve as a good steward of TriMet by regularly utilizing our transit system to maintain a strong and current understanding of customers’ experiences and of TriMet’s product and service offerings. 

 

Essential Functions

1) Attend meetings with business and IT users to help with gathering requirements
2) Document and test new software applications.
3) Develop applications (coding, programming).
4) Assist with researching/evaluating solutions to meet business and IT capabilities
5) Work and collaborate within a team

Position Requirements

 

  • Must be a current or incoming Junior or Senior pursuing a degree. Grads who have completed their degrees in the past 12-month period will also be considered.

 

Selection Criteria

Type of Position / Grade / FLSA
 Non-Exempt, Non-Union, Full-Time (40 hours/week), Temporary. Internships will run May/June through August/September.

 Interns will be paid $21/hour

  Candidates will be selected based at a minimum on the result of:
