As the Enterprise Monitoring Systems Engineer (ISS8), you will play a crucial role in maintaining the stability and performance of state IT systems, ensuring Data Center customers receive unparalleled service and reliability. You will plan, develop, implement, and maintain our Enterprise monitoring systems, specifically SolarWinds, in support of Data Center Services (DCS) 24/7 operations. You will analyze trends and metrics to anticipate potential problems, collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve incidents and improve monitoring processes, and create and maintain documentation related to monitoring procedures and configures. You will design dashboards, views, and alerts in SolarWinds and other tools for use by all DCS technical teams.

Please Note: This position is eligible for hybrid work but is not suitable for full-time remote work. In-office work will be required (e.g., approximately 1 day per week.) Exact terms of hybrid work and the work schedule will be discussed and agreed upon with the successful candidate and hiring manager.

  

 

What We Are Looking For

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Seven (7) years of information systems experience in enterprise-class infrastructure systems design or product management, or utilization of an enterprise monitoring solution to provide analysis, interpretation, and visualization of enterprise performance; OR;

  • An Associate's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field; AND 5 years of information systems experience in enterprise-class infrastructure systems design or product management, or utilization of an enterprise monitoring solution to provide analysis, interpretation, and visualization of enterprise performance; OR;

  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field AND three (3) years of information systems experience in enterprise-class infrastructure systems design or product management, or utilization of an enterprise monitoring solution to provide analysis, interpretation, and visualization of enterprise performance; OR;

  • Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field AND one (1) year of information systems experience in enterprise-class infrastructure systems design or product management, or utilization of an enterprise monitoring solution to provide analysis, interpretation, and visualization of enterprise performance.

 

Desired Attributes:

  • Demonstrated skill and experience serving as a primary product owner responsible for making decisions and/or recommendations regarding system design, configuration, implementation, and planning decisions for enterprise-level applications.

  • Experience and fluency using monitoring tools to support IT Incident Management and advanced network troubleshooting; using monitoring tools to analyze, research and identify root causes and drive incident resolution. Additional consideration may be given to candidates with direct experience using SolarWinds as a monitoring tool.

  • Familiarity with data center operations, complex network environments, cloud platforms, and cyber security practices.

  • Fluency in IT service management frameworks include ITIL, continuous improvement, and software development lifecycle.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and navigate cross-functional teams through root cause analysis using observable facts and data, facilitating collaboration and a respectful environment, to reach incident resolution.

  • Self-motivated (a “self-starter”) with the ability to work with little guidance when performing architectural technology functions; innovative and ability to work with considerable independence within the context of a team environment and a network of relationships; with the ability to manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously and adapt to changing conditions and situations.
