Description

We are looking for someone who is responsible for the production and delivery of hybrid and virtual continuing legal education (CLE) events and digital and hard media products. This position is authorized to work a hybrid schedule.

What you will do:

Virtual and Hybrid CLE Content Delivery Production
  • Produces in-person, hybrid, virtual, and pre-recorded CLE events by setting up registration components, delivering live content using OSB technology platforms and servers (e.g., AWS, Box, FTP, etc.).
  • Utilize editing tools and software for preparing MP3 and MP4 files for the bar’s CLE product catalog.
  • Reviews speaker CLE presentation materials (e.g., PowerPoint slides, media clips, etc.) to ensure compatibility with A/V equipment and virtual platforms and make necessary modifications.
  • Coordinates technical and equipment needs with OSB CLE Seminars Event Coordinator and IDT staff. Interfaces with platform providers and media vendors.
  • Manages, fine-tunes, and troubleshoots all audio and visual systems throughout CLE events, ensuring professional-quality sound and visuals.
  • Monitors event schedule to provide timekeeping cues to presenters.
  • Provides technical support to remote participants during hybrid events, ensuring uninterrupted access and engagement.

Compiles CLE Course Materials and Collateral Documents and Files
  • Manages end-to-end preparation and quality control of CLE course materials, ensuring compliance with OSB standards, technical accuracy, and timely publication across platforms. Liaise with presenters regarding course materials, questions and follow-up.
  • Works with presenters to ensure that course materials are compatible with accessibility features, e.g., screen readers and closed captioning.
  • Reviews presenter course materials for third-party reprint or distribution permission.
  • Creates and distributes print and electronic CLE forms; collates evaluation responses.

Post-Event Production
  • Creates and uploads streaming media and MP3 downloads for the CLE product catalog; creates audio CD masters.
Marketing
  • Updates CLE Seminars webpages on OSB website.
  • Creates sponsor acknowledgement PowerPoint slide decks.
  • Provides back up to by creating and distributing event broadcast emails when needed.

Customer Service
  • Responds to CLE Service Center calls and emails, including basic technical questions.

Additional Expectations
  • Models behavior that values diversity and incorporates inclusive and culturally competent practices.
  • Maintains positive customer service and cooperative relationships with bar staff, volunteers, OSB members and their staff, and vendor contacts.
  • Provides back-up for general program tasks.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Associates degree or multimedia certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in digital media production, event technology support, or online learning delivery systems. Experience within a professional development organization or in continuing legal or adult education is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with using online databases, e.g., association management system (AMS) or learning management system (LMS) Experience with virtual content delivery systems.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite. Familiarity with InDesign helpful but not required.
  • Experience with organizing, uploading, and posting content.
  • Experience with website designs and using HTML.
  • Experience working with volunteers.
  • Familiar with ADA accessibility standards for online education and the tools to meet those standards (e.g., closed captioning).
  • Familiar with or ability to learn monitoring and adjusting in-person event A/V controls (e.g., sound and lighting levels) for delivery of CLE content during hybrid events.
  • Familiar with video editing.
  • Ability to use a microphone to clearly relay questions and comments during hybrid events.
  • Advanced expertise with the Microsoft Office suite in a Microsoft Windows environment with particular emphasis on Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to type 50 WPM with accuracy.
  • Highly accurate editing and proofreading skills.
  • Interpersonal and conflict resolution skills with demonstrated ability to listen to understand and manage difficult conversations.
  • Strong self-motivation skills requiring minimal supervision with ability to balance independent and team-oriented work.
  • Written and oral communication skills using in-person and virtual formats.
  • Effective and productive use of time management practices, prioritizing, multi-tasking, and working in a fast-paced, detail driven, service-oriented environment.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and provide a high level of customer service for a potentially demanding customer base in a variety of situations with various interest groups or individuals with conflicting and competing needs, desires, and demands.
  • Ability to be flexible, agile, and resilient in addressing expected and unexpected situations.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in keeping with the objectives and policies of the CLE Seminars Program and the Oregon State Bar.
  • Commitment to the concept of teamwork and cross-responsibility within CLE Seminars, Equity and Professional Development teams, and other OSB programs and departments.

 

Job Related Physical Characteristics:

  • Ability to communicate in person, in writing, by email, by electronic messaging, telephone, and other communication media, e.g., video calls.

  • Ability to travel inside and outside Oregon to staff in-person and hybrid CLE events; overnight travel, when necessary, due to distance from OSB center.

 

For this non-exempt position, the pay range is $21.99 - $27.47 hourly, depending on experience. The OSB offers excellent benefits including voluntary 6% participation in the PERS program.
