Under general supervision and within established guidelines set up this position will document and fully investigate insurance claims for property loss or damages and settle claims. In this position, you will also coordinate with internal and external resources to ensure that all costs associated with damaged TriMet property are fully recovered from liable parties. 

This role requires being onsite a minimum of three (3) days per week.

Reliable in-person attendance is an essential function of all positions. Essential Functions

  1. Fully investigate and document damage caused by third parties. Complete and distribute appropriate forms and correspondence prepare field notes and reports.
  2. Act as a liaison for all agency divisions to collect information regarding the impact and financial cost associated with damages incurred by the agency.
  3. Take recorded statements, order appropriate reports, and review surveillance footage as necessary to prepare demands for insurance carriers and at fault parties.
  4. Ensure that all claims adjusting activity is properly documented, filed, and reported.
  5. Assist the liability claims team with the investigation of claims against the agency during high volume periods.
  6. Assist in the collection, interpretation and review of data and make recommendations regarding how to reduce risk at the agency.
  7. Participate in meetings as a representative for the risk management department, preparing presentations as necessary and answering risk/claims related questions.
  8. Represent the agency at Restitution Hearings to ensure accurate documentation is presented regarding recovering costs for damage to agency property.
  9. Review security footage to assist in liability determinations, maintain chain of custody and tracking reports of all physical data packs and exported footage for the Risk Management department as needed when the Claims Assistant is out of the office.
  10. Provide valuable risk and cost reduction related insights at agency stakeholder meeting, utilizing data obtained from the recovery process.
  11. Create presentations to be shared with leadership on how to achieve better results in cost reduction and agency recovery efforts.

 

Position Requirements

A minimum of a high school diploma/G.E.D. is required. 

Four (4) years of total credited experience.*

Four (4) years of multi-line claims management experience are required.

CPCU - Chartered Property/Casualty Underwriting is preferred.


Or any equivalent combination of experience and training.*

The amount of credit a candidate receives for prior years of experience is based on the relevancy of that experience to the required or preferred prerequisites of the job description. Experience is prorated based on hours worked. LRHR assigns and validates the "credited experience".

Salary Range
Minimum: $25.92/hr
Maximum: $38.89/hr

Salary offers will be determined by a candidate’s education, training and relevant experience. Any final offer of employment will fall within the range stated above.  For transparency, we choose to list the full available grade range, however, TriMet’s salary administration process will ultimately determine the final salary offered.
