Summary of Duties 

As the APS Administrator, you will: 

  • Direct and administer the APS program for APD. 
  • Design and administer administrative rules, policy development, and analysis for screening and investigations of abuse. 
  • Direct the APS Program compliance with state and federal standards regarding APD adult abuse investigations. 
  • Ensure the quality of the APS program and service delivery in coordination with the Local Office Operations Deputy Administrator.

Minimum Qualifications  

The position requires a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving. 

Seven years of supervision, management, or progressively related experience; OR four years of related experience and a bachelor's degree in a related field. 

Essential Attributes 

We are looking for candidates with:  

  •  A commitment and experience in promoting equity, addressing bias, and creating an inclusive work environment. 
  • Knowledge in administering programs serving Adults and People with Disabilities and conducting adult abuse investigations, relevant statutes, and administrative rules. 
  • Ability to analyze complex investigations and communicate clearly with community partners and other interested parties. 
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams, make critical decisions, and remain calm under pressure. 
  • Experience developing, interpreting, and enforcing Oregon Administrative Rules, policies, and procedures. 
  • Experience managing and providing program oversight within a high-risk, high-paced environment. 
  • Demonstrated ability to strategically design, manage, plan, execute, and prioritize workload, resources, timelines, risks, and opportunities. 
  • Experience leading and managing mid-level managers or multiple work units concurrently.  
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of managing public sector government programs, including managing represented employees. 
  • Evidence of strong interpersonal skills, including communication and collaboration with internal and external partners.

Note: This position will receive a Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) increase of 6.55%, which is not reflected in the salary listed in this posting. The increase is effective January 1, 2025, for February 1, 2025, paychecks.
